1. About Become

Become is a personal development and morning-routine application designed to help users focus on their goals, desired future and daily commitments.

Features may include:

Become does not require a user account.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Become.

If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you must have the permission or involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.

By using Become, you represent that you are legally permitted to use the App and agree to these Terms.

3. Free and Paid Features

Become may allow you to complete onboarding and experience a preview of personalised content before purchasing a subscription.

Access to the main App experience and premium functionality requires an active Become Pro subscription.

Paid features may include the personalised affirmation library, daily visualisation experience, Today checklist, journal, reminders and other features identified as part of Become Pro within the App.

The exact features included in a subscription may evolve as Become is updated.

We will not intentionally remove a paid user’s access to an active subscription entitlement except as permitted by these Terms, required by law, necessary for security or misuse prevention, or resulting from changes to or discontinuation of the Service.

4. Become Pro Subscriptions

Become offers auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.

Available subscription options may include:

WeeklyUS$2.99 per week, or the price displayed by Apple in your country or region.
MonthlyUS$8.99 per month, or the price displayed by Apple in your country or region.

Prices may vary by country, currency, taxes and Apple’s applicable App Store pricing.

The price and billing period displayed to you by Apple at the time of purchase control your transaction if they differ from an amount stated in these Terms.

Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.

Apple, rather than Become, processes your payment.

Apple’s current terms provide that App Store subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled through the user’s subscription settings.

5. Free Trial

Eligible users may be offered a 3-day free trial of the monthly Become Pro subscription.

Eligibility for a free trial is determined through Apple’s App Store systems and may depend on whether you have previously used an introductory offer within the applicable subscription group. Apple permits three-day introductory free trials for monthly subscriptions.

Unless you cancel before the free trial ends, the subscription will automatically convert to the applicable paid subscription and continue to renew until cancelled.

The exact trial terms, eligibility, price following the trial and renewal date will be shown before you confirm your purchase.

Promotional and trial availability may change over time.

6. Renewal and Cancellation

Your subscription continues for the selected subscription period and automatically renews unless cancelled.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.

Cancelling a subscription stops future automatic renewal. Unless Apple specifies otherwise, cancellation does not immediately remove access already paid for; you generally retain access until the end of the applicable subscription period.

If you are using a free trial and do not want it to convert into a paid subscription, cancel it before the trial ends. Apple’s current terms advise cancelling at least 24 hours before the free trial ends.

Deleting Become from your iPhone does not by itself cancel your subscription.

7. Restore Purchases

Become provides functionality for restoring eligible purchases.

You may use Restore Purchases within the App where necessary to ask Apple and RevenueCat to restore your subscription entitlement.

Because Become does not require an account, subscription access is ultimately dependent on the purchase information made available through Apple’s systems and Become’s subscription-management provider.

8. Refunds

Purchases are processed through Apple.

Refund requests for App Store purchases are therefore handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies and applicable consumer law.

Become does not directly receive your payment-card information and generally cannot independently reverse an App Store transaction.

Nothing in this section limits any refund or other consumer right you may have under applicable law.

9. AI-Generated Content

Become uses artificial intelligence provided by OpenAI to generate personalised affirmations based on information you choose to provide.

AI-generated content:

When you edit your onboarding answers or regenerate your personalised content, the newly generated content may differ from previous content.

We do not guarantee that a previous version can be reproduced or recovered.

AI generation also depends on third-party services and internet connectivity. Generation may occasionally be delayed, interrupted or unavailable.

10. Your Content

You retain your rights in the information and text that you enter into Become (“Your Content”).

You give us a limited permission to process Your Content only as necessary to operate Become and provide the features you request, including transmitting relevant onboarding answers to OpenAI when you request AI-generated affirmations and have provided the required permission.

This permission does not give us ownership of Your Content.

Your journal entries remain stored locally on your device and are not submitted to the AI-generation service by Become.

11. Generated Content

Subject to applicable law and the rights of third-party service providers, you may use the personalised affirmations generated for you through Become for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Because AI systems may generate similar or identical content for different users, we do not represent that AI-generated content will be unique to you or capable of being exclusively owned or protected by intellectual-property law.

12. Become’s Intellectual Property

Become, including its name, branding, interface, visual design, software, graphics, original written material and other proprietary elements, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Your use of Become does not transfer ownership of the App or its intellectual property to you.

Subject to these Terms and Apple’s applicable terms, you receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use Become for its intended purpose on supported Apple devices.

Apps distributed through Apple’s App Store are licensed rather than sold, and Apple’s Standard EULA also establishes applicable licence terms unless a custom EULA replaces it.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

We may restrict access to online functionality where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, security threats or material violations of these Terms.

14. Personal Development Tool — Not Professional Advice

Become is a personal development and productivity tool.

Become does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, financial, legal or other professional advice.

Content generated or displayed by Become should not be treated as a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, financial recommendation or substitute for qualified professional advice.

If you require medical, psychological, financial, legal or other professional assistance, seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

If you are experiencing an emergency or are at risk of harm, contact the appropriate emergency or crisis service in your location.

15. No Guarantee of Results

Become is intended to help you reflect on goals, habits, personal standards and the future you would like to create.

We do not guarantee that using Become will result in:

Your results depend on circumstances and actions outside the App.

Statements presented as affirmations describe the future or identity you have asked the App to help you visualise. They are not predictions or guarantees that those outcomes will occur.

16. Journaling and Local Data

Become stores journal entries and other core personal App data locally on your device.

You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and any backups you consider necessary.

Deleting the App, erasing App data, losing or replacing your device, restoring your device or other technical events may cause locally stored information to become unavailable.

We do not guarantee that locally stored journal entries, habits, commitments or generated content can be recovered.

17. Notifications

Become may allow you to schedule local reminders.

Notifications are provided as a convenience only.

We do not guarantee that a notification will be delivered at a particular time, as delivery may depend on your device, operating-system settings, notification permissions and other factors outside our control.

18. Third-Party Services

Become relies on third-party services to provide certain functionality, including services provided by Apple, OpenAI, RevenueCat and Expo.

Those services may experience outages, delays, changes or interruptions outside our control.

We may replace or modify third-party providers where reasonably necessary to maintain or improve Become, provided we continue to comply with applicable privacy and consumer-law obligations.

19. Service Availability

We aim to keep Become available and functioning reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Features requiring internet access or third-party services, including AI generation and subscription verification, may occasionally be unavailable.

We may update, modify, improve, replace or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.

If we discontinue Become entirely, subscription handling, refunds and access will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law and Apple’s App Store requirements.

20. Updates

We may release updates to Become to introduce features, fix bugs, improve security or maintain compatibility with iOS and third-party services.

Some functionality may require a reasonably current version of Become or iOS.

21. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Become at any time.

You may cancel your subscription through your Apple Account settings.

We may suspend access to online functionality where reasonably necessary because of fraud, abuse, security threats, unlawful activity or a serious violation of these Terms.

Termination of access does not allow us to remotely erase personal content that exists only on your device.

Cancelling your subscription stops future renewal but does not itself delete your locally stored data.

22. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Become is provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not warrant that:

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

23. Australian Consumer Law

If you are a consumer in Australia, you may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any guarantee, condition, warranty, right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified.

Where our liability can lawfully be limited, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

24. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising solely from your use of or inability to use Become.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including rights and remedies available under applicable consumer-protection law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.

25. Privacy

Your use of Become is also subject to the Become Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, processed, transmitted and stored.

In particular, the Privacy Policy explains Become’s use of OpenAI for personalised AI generation, RevenueCat for subscription management, Apple for payments and Expo for application infrastructure.

26. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms where Become’s functionality, subscriptions, service providers or legal obligations change.

If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice where required.

The effective date at the beginning of these Terms identifies the latest version.

Changes will not retrospectively remove consumer rights or other rights that cannot legally be modified.

27. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory consumer or other laws that apply in the jurisdiction where you live.

Nothing in this section prevents you from relying on rights available to you under applicable mandatory consumer-protection laws.

28. Apple App Store

Become is distributed through Apple’s App Store.

Your use of the App is also subject to applicable Apple Media Services terms, App Store Usage Rules and the applicable Apple end-user licence terms. Apple’s Standard EULA provides the default licence framework for App Store applications where no custom EULA is supplied.

Apple is responsible for its App Store, payment and transaction services as provided under its own terms.
